Lil’ Kickers (Soccer) Instructor

Nittany Valley Sports Centre is seeking high energy coaches for Lil’ Kickers soccer program. Soccer experience is not required.

Lil’ Kickers is a child development soccer program. Lil’ Kickers uses games and other age-appropriate activities to help children build physical, intellectual and emotional skills. These animated classes are designed to enhance each child’s growth and overall well-being, resulting in well-rounded and confident children who love to be active.

Lil’ Kickers Instructors lead small groups of children (from age 18 months to 7 years old) through a series of games and activities to help promote their physical and social development. Instructors are responsible for leading classes according to the Lil’ Kickers program as well as helping to create a fun and safe learning environment for each child. Coaches also assist with processing registrations/payments, completing handouts and other information for parents, and other related duties as needed.

Club Basketball Coach

Job Description: Club Basketball Coach – PA Prime Basketball (Spring 2024) 


Position Overview:  

PA Prime Basketball is seeking dedicated and experienced Club Basketball Coaches to join our coaching team for the Spring 2024 season. As a Club Basketball Coach, you will play a crucial role in the development and growth of young basketball players. You will be responsible for planning and leading practices, fostering skill improvement, and guiding the team during local and regional tournaments. This is an excellent opportunity for passionate coaches to contribute to the advancement of aspiring basketball athletes while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Player Development: Design and implement engaging practice plans that focus on skill development, fundamental techniques, game strategies, and physical conditioning tailored to the needs of the team members. 
  • Practice Leadership: Lead organized and productive practice sessions that foster a positive and energetic learning environment. Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help players improve their basketball skills. 
  • Game Strategy: Develop effective game strategies and tactics based on team strengths and opponents’ weaknesses. Inculcate decision-making skills and teamwork principles during games. 
  • Player Evaluation: Assess player progress, strengths, and areas for improvement on an ongoing basis. Offer individualized guidance to maximize each player’s potential. 
  • Tournament Preparation: Work with Club Administrators to coordinate team participation in local and regional basketball tournaments.  
  • Team Building: Foster a sense of unity, camaraderie, and sportsmanship among players. Encourage teamwork, respect, and discipline both on and off the court. 
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, and club management. Address concerns, share updates, and provide feedback in a timely manner. 
  • Role Model: Serve as a positive role model for players, demonstrating professionalism, dedication, and enthusiasm for the sport. 

Qualifications: 

  • Previous coaching experience, preferably in club or youth basketball. 
  • Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, techniques, and game strategies. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to motivate and inspire players to achieve their best. 
  • Organizational skills for planning practices, travel, and tournament participation. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. 
  • Availability to lead practices (two times per week) and attend weekend tournaments as required. 

     

    Requirements: 

    • Valid coaching certifications or willingness to obtain required certifications. 
    • Background check clearance. 
    • Reliable transportation for commuting to practices and tournaments. 
    • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

    Soccer League Official

    Are you a soccer fan and interested in becoming an official for any of our soccer leagues?

    Qualifications:

    • Soccer Knowledge- no certification required. On the job training
    • Weeknight/ weekend availability. Game options Tuesday nights, Thursday nights, Friday nights, and Saturday afternoons

    Sport Performance Coach

    The Nittany Valley Sports Centre is seeking candidates for a part-time, hourly position.

    Are you an outgoing, enthusiastic coach who is sports-focused and enjoys working with kids?

    The Centre For Sports Performance at the  Nittany Valley Sports Centre is looking for motivated performance coaches who enjoy working within an athletic environment while helping youth athletes achieve their health and fitness goals.

    The successful applicant must have a friendly, outgoing nature and be proactive in achieving the challenges set for them. They will be passionate and energetic about health and fitness and will be prepared to build and maintain a current client base.

    This program is designed for youths ages 7-18 years and classes are held in our training loft at the Nittany Valley Sports Centre.

    We are looking for an energetic coach to join our team.

    We are looking for a coaching leader who, while reporting to our CSP director, will work with our current program and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment by building and managing their own group of individual and team-training clients.

    Our program has seen significant growth over the past year, and we are looking for someone to help us expand further.  The ideal candidate will have proven experience in coaching and education of youth as well as the ability to grow a brand and a business.

    Qualifications

    • Nationally accredited personal training certification (preferred)
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology (preferred)
    • Ability to project energy and motivate others
    • Athletic background preferred
    • Must be physically fit and able to perform athletic movements
    • Must enjoy working with children on an individual and group basis
    • Professional image and rapport building skills

    Youth Programs Staff

    The Nittany Valley Sports Centre is seeking candidates for a part-time, hourly positions.

    Birthday Party Hosts, Sports Enrichment Camp Counselors (In-service Day), Summer Camp Counselors, Date Night Supervisor, Class Instructor for various Youth Sports Programs

    Qualifications: 

    • Dependable, energetic, flexible, and creative
    • Must be available to work weeknights and weekends as schedule permits
    • Job functions include:
      • Arriving 15-20 minutes prior to scheduled program times to set up needed equipment to be fully prepared for programming/party etc.
      • Possessing time management skills to ensure programs are beginning/ending on time and following proper rotation schedules to evenly distribute program activities
      • Provide a positive, safe learning environment that encourages participants to have an enjoyable experience
      • Evaluate each child with provided evaluations to ensure the proper progression through the program
      • Provide excellent customer service to participants and parents; communicate class dates, upcoming events, etc.
      • Perform other duties as needed Requirements:
      • Ability to work with others in a group setting
      • Strong leadership skills; comfortable working one on one with children
      • Willingness to obtain all Clearances needed to work with children

    Customer Service and Cafe Assistant

    Description:
    Our Customer Service/ Café Assistant position will be cross-trained to work both the Front Desk area as well as our Courtside Café. Training will be provided for learning our scheduling software, POS system, and appliances in the café.
    Qualifications:
    Excellent interpersonal skills, good computer skills, enjoy working with the public.

    Tournament and Event Staff

    Description: To ensure a second-to-none customer service experience, we need dedicated staff to assist with all aspects of event operations. Under the direction of our Director of Events and General Manager the job duties will include:

    · Assistance with event setup and teardown, including volleyball nets, bleachers, tables, chairs, stages, etc.

    · Routine food service work at concession stands, including cash/payment handling, preparation of food and beverages, and cleaning and maintenance of equipment and utensils.

    · Various customer service tasks including providing guest information, directions, and crowd control.

    · Occasional support with parking areas including assisting patrons entering and leaving lots, and collecting parking fees.

    · Assistance with cleaning tasks including regular bathroom inspections, sweeping and mopping, trash collection, etc.

    · Communication about, and assistance with, customer and participant issues regarding security, safety, and team/participant management.

    Requirements for the role:

    · Experience in a customer service role

    · Attention to detail and desire to help where needed

    · Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

    · Ability to work on your feet for an extended period-of-time

    · Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

    · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Summer Camp Counselor

    The Nittany Valley Sports Centre is seeking candidates for a part-time, hourly position as a Summer Camp Counselor

    Must be available to work Monday- Friday as schedule permits June – August

    Job Functions Include:
